Random Objects

Just an exercise. My object project turned balls up so I refuse to post it. I like these, however.

Character Redesign: "Good Love,"

Last week, we made up an animal.

It was pretty much as fun as it sounds.

Dumpai:
From QUICK SKETCH

The Dumpai is a slow moving, slow thinking, aggressive animal.
Some inspiration for the Dumpai include:
Kiwi birds
Puffer fish (Eyeballs and spines)
Carrots (for the feet)
Echidnas (for the back spines)
Luna Moth (for the antenna)

Preliminary sketches:

There were actually pages upon pages but I really didn't feel like scanning them all, although I should...

ANIMALS: "No sweetheart in the dark to call my own,"

Two weeks ago, we drew animals.

Let me just start by saying: I LOVE BATS AND I HATE BUGS.

Quick Sketch

This term, I'm taking a class called, "Quick Sketch."
It's primarily geared towards Game Art students but my assistant department head felt that it would be good of my soul if I signed up. :]

So anyway, we do weekly sketches done in ink and have to scan them in for a book we'll be turning in at the end of the term.

Character Design -
1 Page of Disney, Pixar, or dreamworks characters.
1 Page of Comic book characters.
1 Page of people from real life.
1 Page of your choosing.

I am OUT OF CONTROL

Jesus. One week is just NOT enough.

This morning was my last final. It's an unsettling feeling having been so stressed out for 3 months and suddenly have it be all over.

Regardless, I made some pretty sweet shit this term. I don't have internet access anymore (F U COMCAST,) so I'll have to find a pretty steady connection to upload everything I've done.

Two of my projects will be featured in the hallway which is BOMB.
:]

Spring is just around the corner and if you don't know, spring is probably the most dynamic of all seasons in Oregon. On one half, the sky will be all crazy like that scene from Ghostbusters II when Vigo comes out of his painting and the other half will be the craziest cerulean blue you've ever seen. SHIT IS CRAZE. Umbrellas are futile. Just embrace the downpour.

PDX vs. Williamsburg

Williamsburg hipsters:

To be fair, i guess this girl is in costume...

And it has its own musical...

?

Portland hipsters:

Refined.

Seriously though, it doesn't get much more PDX than that dude. If only he were holding a PBR.

All I wanna do is dance.

All I wanna do is... Folk/alt/storytelling/rock?

Bam!

UH, yeah.
POR FAVOR, Williamsburg. No contest.

Creativeness!

I have a lot of stuff I've been busy with last term as well as this one. I worked with more traditional methonds 3 months ago like graphite, pen and ink, compressed charcol (which I actually grew to like, thank you Suzannah,) and conte crayon. Nothing ever came about with conte crayon though as I can't say I was a fan. I also played with different papers with better texture. Seriously, I never thought it was a big deal but you get what you pay for. I bought nice vellum which was like drawing with a hot knife in butter. So smooth! I also picked up some textured grey toned charcol paper that was super expensive but JESUS did it save my pictures. It was so forgiving it was almost easy. Anytime I strayed from my original layout it looked great and totally just looked intentional.

Click on my dad below to see more. ooooh... yeah...

From creativity happens

I'm going to try hard to upload more often. Picasa is really confusing but apparently that's what blogger uses to upload pictures. I would use flickr but my limit is just about out. I might have to bust out my furry skills and resort to registering for a deviant art...
